Historical Journey in Vardø
Step into the fascinating history of Vardø on a guided journey through one of Norway’s most unique Arctic towns. The experience begins at Vardøhus Fortress, where you will hear stories from a time when kings and rulers from several nations saw the great strategic importance of this remote outpost. From there, we continue to the Pomor Museum to learn about the long and remarkable history of trade with Russia.
Afterwards, we travel by minibus to Cape East, the easternmost point of mainland Northern Europe. Here, you will explore the impressive coastal gun positions used during the Second World War. The tour takes place in Vardø town and on the mainland, around 10 km from the island, and lasts approximately 4 hours.

Boat Trip Around Vardøya with King Crab Catch
Experience the Arctic coast from the water on a scenic boat trip around Vardøya and the surrounding area. We sail around the island in search of whales and seals, while also bringing fishing rods for those who would like to try their luck in the Barents Sea.
A visit to Hornøya is an essential part of the trip. This small island, just two kilometres from Vardø, is famous for its spectacular birdlife and dramatic setting. After the boat trip, we return to lift our king crab traps and bring the catch ashore, adding an authentic local highlight to the day.

Coastal Boat Adventure in Rugged Arctic Nature
Discover the raw and dramatic landscapes just outside Vardø on this 4-hour boat adventure. This tour takes you into one of the most striking geological areas in Norway, shaped by wind, sea and time.
We go ashore near an abandoned settlement, light a fire, and enjoy lunch outdoors surrounded by Arctic silence and open views. There will also be a guided walk through an extraordinary rocky landscape, where we search for whale bones along the shoreline and take in the wild beauty of the coast.

Historical Journey in Vardø with Overnight Stay on Board
This extended experience includes everything from the Historical Journey in Vardø, followed by a memorable overnight adventure at sea. After lunch, we meet at Vardø harbour and board the boat that will take us across the Varanger Fjord towards the Russian border.
If luck is on our side, we may spot whales and seals along the way. We spend the night on board, surrounded by the silence and vastness of the Arctic coast, close to the borderlands of the far northeast. On the return journey, we cast our fishing lines and hope for a good catch before arriving back in Vardø harbour the following day. The experience lasts 24 hours.

Boat Journey to the Mighty Tanafjord
Join us on an unforgettable boat trip to experience one of the world’s great fjords, the vast and powerful Tanafjord. We leave Vardø harbour early in the morning and head out into the Barents Sea, passing the famous cliffs near Persfjord and Hamningberg. Along the way, we also make a short detour into Syltefjord and Berlevåg.
At the entrance to Tanafjord, we pass the iconic mountain Tanahorn before continuing deep into the fjord, a landscape so immense it feels like an open sea. Eventually, we reach abandoned villages where we go ashore to enjoy dinner outdoors in truly remote surroundings. There will be time to explore the area and take a short hike for panoramic views. We spend the night on board, and on the way back we stop by Berlevåg, a lively fishing community on the Finnmark coast. We return to Vardø harbour in the evening. The full journey lasts one and a half days.
